Cookie policy

Scope and responsible party

This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies that may be used when a person visits the Law Firm VS website or uses its contact form. Where a cookie or identifier can identify or make a person identifiable, its processing is handled as personal data under Costa Rican Law No. 8968 and its applicable regulation.

Law Firm VS is responsible for the website processing described here. Questions may be sent to info@bufetevs.com, +506 8885 6819, or Creole Building, Tibás, next to La Nación, San José, 10111.

What cookies and similar technologies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores or reads in a browser. Similar technologies include session identifiers, browser storage, pixels, and technical scripts that allow a website or an integrated service to recognize a request, preserve a setting, or protect a function.

This website also uses browser session storage for limited navigation behavior. Session storage is not a cookie and is kept under the browser session controls.

Necessary website cookies

The application may use cookies that are strictly necessary for requested functions, security, and the operation of Laravel and Livewire. Their names may vary according to the deployment configuration, but they can include the following categories:

  • Session cookie: maintains the server-side session and supports secure continuity between requests. Its duration is controlled by the application configuration.
  • XSRF-TOKEN cookie: supports protection of requests against cross-site request forgery.
  • Livewire and security state: temporary browser state may be used to complete interactive components and protect contact-form requests.

Contact-form security

The contact form loads Cloudflare Turnstile to detect automated abuse and protect the form. Cloudflare may use cookies, local storage, or other technical signals and may receive the IP address, browser information, and security-verification data necessary for that service.

Turnstile is used for security verification, not for Law Firm VS advertising or behavioral profiling. Its processing is also subject to Cloudflare terms and privacy information.

Office map

The contact page loads an OpenStreetMap-based map and requests map tiles from third-party servers. Those requests necessarily disclose technical connection information, including the visitor IP address, to the relevant provider. The map is used to display the Law Firm VS office location and is not used by Law Firm VS for advertising or analytics.

Cookies we do not use

Law Firm VS does not intentionally use advertising cookies, sale-of-data cookies, or analytics cookies on this website. If a new non-essential cookie or similar technology is introduced, this policy will be updated and the applicable information and choice mechanism will be provided before its use where required by Costa Rican law.

Consent and browser controls

Necessary technical cookies are used to provide a function requested by the visitor, secure the website, or maintain its operation. A visitor may block or delete cookies through browser settings, but blocking necessary cookies may prevent the contact form, navigation, or other interactive functions from working correctly.

Browser settings can usually be configured to notify the visitor when cookies are created, reject them, delete existing cookies, or limit third-party storage. These controls apply only to the browser and device where they are configured.

Personal-data rights, retention, and providers

Information associated with cookies or similar technologies is retained only for the time reasonably necessary for the function, security, troubleshooting, legal obligations, or exercise and defense of rights. It is then deleted, anonymized, or securely disposed of according to the applicable process.

Requests concerning personal data processed through cookies may be submitted under the procedure in the Privacy Policy. Some integrated providers may process technical information outside Costa Rica for the service described here, under their own terms and applicable safeguards.

Changes and contact

This policy may change when the website, its components, service providers, or applicable Costa Rican rules change. The version published on this page is the current version.

Questions about cookies may be sent to info@bufetevs.com or through the contact channels published on this website.

If you have questions about this information, you can contact us.
